Both Flutter and React Native let you ship iOS and Android apps from a single codebase, and both are excellent in 2026. The right choice depends on your product goals, your team, and your performance needs - not on hype.
Choose Flutter for highly custom, animation-rich, pixel-perfect interfaces and consistent behaviour across platforms. Choose React Native when your team already knows JavaScript/React or you need tight integration with an existing web codebase. Our mobile app team builds production apps in both.
Flutter compiles to native ARM code and renders its own UI, which gives it an edge for graphics-heavy and animation-heavy apps. React Native has closed much of the gap with its new architecture (Fabric and TurboModules), and for most business apps the difference is imperceptible to users.
React Native benefits from the massive JavaScript ecosystem, so hiring and reusing web skills is easier. Flutter uses Dart, which is quick to learn but a smaller talent pool. If you already run a React web app, React Native shortens the ramp-up.
Flutter draws every pixel itself, so your app looks identical on every device - great for strong branding. React Native leans on native components, which can feel more platform-native but requires more attention to keep both platforms consistent.
Both frameworks cut cost versus building two fully native apps. Real timelines depend more on scope, backend complexity, and design than on the framework itself. A well-planned MVP in either typically ships in 8–14 weeks.
